TPL as a company provides both medicolegal and educational services.
I specialise in the preparation of medicolegal reports for the Court where a claim is being made or defended in relation to alleged psychiatric injury. I interview solicitor’s clients, following instruction, at my Quayside clinic in Newcastle or if needed via Zoom.
I no longer prepare reports on criminal or family matters, and I do not prepare capacity reports. As a general adult psychiatrist, I am not qualified to prepare reports in relation to claims being made for children or adolescents under 18 years of age or the very elderly.
My specific areas of interest and expertise include:
Severe mental disorders such as schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar disorder and psychotic and treatment resistant depression.
Disorders seen in Liaison Psychiatry (Chronic fatigue syndrome/somatoform disorders/traumatic brain injury)
PTSD and complex PTSD
Emotionally unstable personality disorders
Suicide prevention
Psychopharmacology
Evidence based psychological treatments (such as CBT and EMDR)
OCD
Adjustment disorders
Recovery
